Erik Bloch has been in the security field for nearly 35 years, starting his career in the U.S. Army before joining Cisco’s first security team and founding the CSIRT team. Over the years, he has led security efforts at major companies like Salesforce, Sprinklr, NTT, and Atlassian, as well as fast-moving startups such as SenSage, AppDirect, and PatternEx. In addition to his leadership roles, Erik has spent time on the product side, developing security tools in the SIEM and AI security space to help practitioners like himself. He had extensive experience and expertise in the D&R space, having worked on multiple nation-state and APT attacks, and has developed modern best practices for Security Operations organizations.

He currently lives in the Bay Area with his two kids and, when he’s not focused on security, enjoys riding his motorcycle, lifting weights, paintball, visiting Disneyland, and biohacking.
