Prasanna Ramakrishnan has more than 24 years of experience in IT, of which about 21 years has been in the cybersecurity domain. He has held roles of increasing responsibility at Lucent, British Telecom, Ulta Beauty, Philips lighting, and now at Clarios. Prasanna joined Clarios in August 2020 as VP & Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Throughout his professional career, he has worked in different industries and in organizations of different maturity levels, which has enabled him to take a pragmatic and value creation approach to Information security.

At Clarios, Prasanna leads the Global Information Security (GIS) team, directs the strategic and the operational capability of the information security function to keep the cyber risks at an acceptable level. He also is responsible for assuring Clarios leadership at various levels about the strength and effectiveness of security controls and identify opportunities for continuous improvements. His expertise lies in building and implementing risk based security programs, compliance management and educating and advising executive management on cyber risks.

Prior to Clarios, he served as the Global head of Information Security risk at Philips Lighting. As Philips lighting was splitting away from the parent Philips and forming its own identity, his role was to build a brand new security program under the new leadership. Prasanna led the implementation of several key program in information security and also regularly presented in the Security Board and Audit committee meetings. He is an active participant in the national CISO communities where he serves as a speaker, panelist, author and judge to name a few. He also is a co-chair and governing body member in several local and national cybersecurity collaboration chapters and organizes executive meetings and exchanges.
Prasanna has a Bachelors degree (BS) in Computer Science Engineering from Government College of Technology, India and a MBA from Northern Illinois University. He also holds Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) professional certifications.
